Across the South, state and local governments are in a race against their constituents to tear down any and all remnants of the Confederacy. Both liberal Democrats and spineless Republicans have not only stood idly by, but voiced support for, and voted in favor of, historical vandalism, the likes of which our country has never seen. As the City of New Orleans begins the removal of monuments amidst massive protests, and under the cover of darkness, the City of Charlottesville, Virginia is in a costly, drawn out legal fight to tear down a statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee.
The statue, currently positioned in the City’s Lee Park, has stood for nearly 100 years, and since 1997, has appeared on the National Registry of Historic Places. Lee Park has been the scene of protests both in favor of, and against the statue, after Vice-Mayor of Charlottesville, Wes Bellamy, claimed a young girl told him she was offended by the statue, and that African Americans were unsafe in the park, called for its removal. The action in Charlottesville, which has taken a front and center role in Virginia’s 2017 Gubernatorial Election, thanks in large part to Republican Corey Stewart’s defense of the monument, is poised to set a potentially national precedent in the handling of, and tearing down of monuments.
As the City of Charlottesville’s so-called ‘Blue Ribbon Commission on Race, Memorials, and Public Spaces’ convened, they were assigned the task of ‘telling the full story of Charlottesville’s history of race and changing the city’s narrative through our public spaces.’ Yes, you read that correctly, ‘changing the city’s narrative.’ What does ‘changing the city’s narrative’ entail? How far does it go? Does it stop at removing statues of Confederate Generals? Or does it continue by removing every aspect of the city’s history someone could find offensive? Will Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence, founder of the University of Virginia, and a slave owner, be erased from Charlottesville’s history books? Jefferson has attracted attention from the ‘social justice warrior’ community nationwide. Students at the University of Missouri, emboldened by the removal of a statue of Confederate President Jefferson Davis at the University of Texas, have recently demanded the removal of a statue depicting Thomas Jefferson on the school’s Columbia campus. Led by a group known as ‘Mobilized African Diaspora,’ or ‘MAD,’ the students have cited ‘the need to project a progressive environment,’ and the school’s duty to ‘help cure the emotional and psychological strain of today.’ If Jefferson is wiped from our history books, does the Declaration of Independence go out the window as well? That sure would make me ‘MAD.’
It’s not some far-fetched conspiracy theory cooked up on dark corners of the internet. Historical vandalism is real, it’s here, and it’s sponsored by governing bodies both nationally and globally. The histories of the United States, and all of Western Civilization are at stake. By falling into the hands of a small few on the far-left, our history would be changed forever. They say history is written by the victors. There is no room in the United States for the far-left to become the victors of the culture war. We as Americans have no choice but to stand up to those threatening our legacy, and the legacy of our ancestors.
‘All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.’ -Thomas Jefferson

America, the land of free speech, or so we thought. Through the months leading up to the 2016 Election, and continuing to present day, a European inspired, mask wearing, far left Fascist group ironically referring to themselves as ‘Anti Fascists,’ or ‘AntiFa,’ began appearing at political rallies nationwide, with one goal. To demonize, attack, and physically harm anyone who disagrees with them. A far cry from traditional sign holding, flag waving, and slogan chanting American protestors, AntiFa has not only developed a reputation for burning flags and symbols of free speech, destroying property, and blocking traffic, but for attacking political rivals, passerby, members of the media, and even children. Armed with profanity, pepper spray, fireworks, flag poles, Molotov cocktails, and whatever other makeshift weapons they can piece together, AntiFa has succeeded in making even the Occupy Wall Street movement’s behavior look somewhat reasonable, as they attempt to stifle anyone who disagrees with them.
As is usually the case with left wing movements across the West, AntiFa is not exactly a grassroots organization. In fact, to borrow an old term from Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, they are rather AstroTurf. Time and time again we have been presented with evidence of big money lining the pockets of AntiFa style groups and their allies worldwide. One of the more notable instances involved funding from none other than George Soros. As reported by the Daily Caller and numerous other conservative outfits, The Alliance for Global Justice, a Soros backed group, presented Refuse Fascism, whose full name is actually ‘In the Name of Humanity We Refuse to Accept a Fascist America’ (yes they really call themselves that) the communist group behind the violent attacks outside Milo Yiannopoulos’s UC Berkeley speech, and the other so called ‘Battles of Berkley,’ with a whopping $50,000 donation! A quick search of Refuse Fascism’s website shows they are currently in the midst of what they are referring to as ‘Massive Resistance’ (I’m guessing they are unfamiliar with Virginia’s anti-civil rights movement by the same name) against the Trump Administration. Their website also proudly show plans of what appears to be a large May Day demonstration (potentially including more riots), led by their so called ‘Refuse Fascism May First Task Force.’
Unfortunately for the American political process, it appears AntiFa instigated violence is far from over, and in places like Berkeley, it is actually being encouraged. Berkeley’s Mayor, Jesse Arreguin, was recently outed as a member of a far left Facebook group called ‘By Any Means Necessary,’ which has been responsible for organizing AntiFa led riots. As if far left AntiFa activists inside the Mayor’s office wasn’t bad enough, a 4chan user on the infamous /pol/ message board recently identified himself as a Berkeley Police Officer, and described in great detail the pressure put on officers to allow AntiFa rioters to run wild. The alleged police officer declared ‘We are wholesale being threatened by the Mayor’s Office if we protect actual innocents!’ He then went into further detail about threats made to the officers by the Berkeley Mayor’s Office, and the top brass of the Berkeley Police Department, such as forfeiture of vacation/sick days, changes in shift, and even termination and assassination of character if the officers decided to step in, or go public about the City’s not only sympathetic, but collaborative views and actions towards AntiFa and the radical left. Considering the lackluster, shameful response by officers on duty during the Berkeley riots, it isn’t hard to believe he’s telling the truth.
There is much more to say on the subject of AntiFa thugs, and of course, more articles to come, but I think this short quote sums it up best: ‘If fascism ever comes to America, it will come in the name of liberalism.’ –Ronald Reagan
